Why everyone keeps coming back.

Jeju Island (Jeju Do) in Flushing, NY is a vibrant culinary destination where Korean, Japanese, and broader Asian seafood traditions meet in a fresh, inviting atmosphere. This restaurant specializes in outstanding seafood dishes that vividly capture the rich flavors of Jeju Island, Korea’s famed volcanic isle known for its pristine ocean bounty.

At Jeju Island, diners are treated to an expertly crafted menu featuring standout items such as the Jeju Set, which offers 12 pieces of impeccably sliced sashimi accompanied by a comforting bowl of udon or a spicy pasta stew—perfect for those seeking a harmonious balance of fresh, raw delicacies and warm, flavorful broths. The Sushi Set, with nine pieces of sushi and the same choice of udon or stew, also earns high praise for its freshness and presentation.

Seafood lovers will delight in the diverse Dupbab options—rice bowls topped with delicate ingredients like Sea Squirt, Live Fish, and Eel, each bursting with authentic Korean flavors that are both comforting and exhilarating. The Korean menu is equally impressive, featuring hearty dishes such as Spicy Cod Stew, Busan Grandma Stew, and the indulgent Orabang Crab Pasta, which epitomizes the richness of ocean fare elevated with a Korean twist.

What truly sets Jeju Island apart is the freshness and quality of its seafood. Customers like Julia Zou rave about the sashimi, calling it "the BEST sashimi in Murray Hill" and highlighting the generous portions that ensure no one leaves hungry. The uniqueness of sourcing live fish and even live octopus sashimi—an exotic treat that left James Hsieh feeling as if he had been transported straight to Jeju Island—creates a dining experience that feels authentic and adventurous. For those new to such delicacies, the side dishes like oden and katsudon add comforting familiarity to the bold flavors.

The restaurant’s ambiance reflects a warm and welcoming environment where impeccable service enhances every meal. Diners recommend coming with friends and family to fully enjoy the communal spirit and array of offerings. As Joy K shares, the friendly service combined with delicious food makes every visit truly satisfying. The vibrant energy and authentic touches invite you to savor not just a meal, but a cultural experience rich in taste and spirit.

Whether you are craving delicate sashimi, a robust Korean stew, or simply want to explore the acclaimed flavors of Jeju Island, this Flushing gem promises a memorable and deeply satisfying seafood journey.

This is very personal review. Im crazy of sashimi. It is very impossible to find raw live fish in other states. But, Only N.Y and L.A. does have this because they have so enough sashimi restaurants with high demand that they could import raw fishes with acceptable Transportation costs from korea by airplanes. This is economies of scale. Anyway, Sashimi was excellent for me. Service and Atmosphere doesn't matter to me. I was so happy to enjoy live fish. I recommend you to visit if you like to live seafood.

Delicious seafood and super fresh! It was my very first time try the live octopus sashimi, and it was kinda fun and exotic. Their sashimi was one of the best I’ve ever had in NYC, and the whole restaurant atmosphere made me feel like as if I was in Jeju island in Korea!

- Food Fanily and I ordered Bone-in Sliced Fish and Live Fish menu item, which came with many side dishes for us to enjoy. Select favorites were the oden and katsudon. Best to come in on an empty stomach because you will be eating a lot! The live fish platter was nicely presented and had nice texture. It is served with sesame leaves and lettuce for you to wrap the fish in with soybean paste. - Service Very attentive service, cleaned the finished dishes in timely manner. There are a lot of separate plates so space management is key. We were glad to have good service. - Ambiance Quaint and small shop with cute lanterns above. There is a fishtank as well where they keep the live fish and other critters (abalone, eels, etc). In the back is the sushi chef. There is a bathroom as well.

I had the pleasure of visiting this newly opened restaurant, and I was genuinely impressed by the owner's warm welcome and attentive service. The enticing array of tsukidashi whetted my appetite, and the fresh raw fish was a delightful treat. Every dish, including the spicy stew, was executed perfectly, making it a memorable dining experience that I look forward to sharing with friends on future visits.

We have been craving for Korean sashimi for a while and decided to give Jeju Island a try since it has been on my bucket list for a while. It looks like classic Jeju Island style which I saw from Korean drama and we were surrounded by Koreans so I think it should be authentic. We were astounished by the spread of combo for three. The portion was incredibly huge with reasonable price. It’s overall fresh, flavorful and satisfying but not delicate at all.

I used to go to the other place for sashime bit found out that it was permanently closed so we tried this place for the first time. 5 of us had a nice early dinner. The server was super attentive and friendly. The quality and freshness of sashimi was superb. The quantity was more than what we can consume for dinner. The best dish served was 매운탕 which I dont have the picture uploaded. We will go back to try other dishes they have.
